IMPAIRED DRIVERS CAUGHT OUT

Warrnambool police have had a busier King’s Birthday long weekend than they would have liked.

As part of the statewide Operation Regal, local officers were out and about on the roads.

Impaired drivers were again an issue, with four drink drivers and two drug drivers caught by police.

Another driver double-dipped in worst possible way, reading positive to over the limit alcohol and drug taking.

Speeding drivers kept police busiest, with 44 offences recorded.

Other offences included one disqualified driver, seven disobeying signs/signals, two mobile phone offences,
three unregistered vehicles and two cyclist offences.

In some positive news, there were no seatbelt offences or unlicensed drivers.
