Allansford remains undefeated in the WDFNL with seven goals from Robbie Hare spearheading the victory over a previously unbeaten Russells Creek side on Saturday at the Mack Oval.
In what was shaping up as a Grand Final preview, both sides added two majors to the board in the first quarter with the Cats taking a narrow three-point buffer into the first change.
The contest continued to be an arm wrestle in the second, but the cats managed to take the advantage into the long break with an 11-point buffer.
At the end of the third, there were 16 points in it, but an emphatic attack from the Cats saw the top side pile on four goals, four to Creek’s one goal, three to take the win by 35 points and keep their unblemished record intact.

For the home side, Lockie Chadderton, Sam Kelly and skipper Tom Smith led the goals with three, while Jacob Remine contributed with one major.
Robbie Hare continues to be an imposing figure in the cats forward line with his bag of seven, but the depth is also showing with two goals from Skipper Brett Hunger, Cooper Hoffmann and Rani Jamieson.
Kyle Moloney, Sam Alberts, Jiah Cawthorn, Seamus Brady, Sam Kelly & Griffen McLeod were named Creeks’ best, while Cooper Hoffmann, Aiden Gordon, Kade Gordon, Rani Jamieson, Brett Hunger, and Xavier Farley led the way for Allansford.
Despite the win, the Cats face a nervous wait, with two of their leaders sustaining injuries in the top-of-the-table clash.
Jonah Maher and Zavier Mungean both came from the ground with suspected lower-body injuries
