Protections are again in place for Warrnambool’s famous visiting southern right whales.
An exclusion zone at Logan Beach is in place, as it is each year from June to the end of October.
The zone extends between Gaul’s Cave and Point Ritchie, with all powered watercraft prohibited from entering.
Warrnambool is a popular destination for southern right whales to give birth and care for their calves.
Across all other Victorian waters, boats must stay at least 200 metres from whales, and jet skis at least 300 metres.
The Conservation Regulator Victoria is urging anyone who sees a breach of the exclusion zone to contact Crime Stoppers.
