The King’s Birthday long weekend will bring with it an increased police presence on south west roads.
Operation Regal will be a four-day blitz to help motorists take on wet, winter conditions.
A focus of the operation will be on speeding, distraction and impaired driving.
With several events and festivals scheduled across state over the weekend, police will also prioritise roadside alcohol and drug testing, with motorists warned to expect to be tested anywhere, anytime.
During last year’s Operation Regal enforcement period, police issued more than 6000 infringements.
Operation Regal starts at 12:01am on Friday 6 June and ends at 11:59pm on Monday 8 June 2026.
