WATCH- POLICE & VICROADS URGE CAUTION AS A LARGE POTHOLE ON HIGHWAY LEADS TO DISRUPTIONS TO MORNING TRAFFIC.

Motorists travelling towards Warrnambool on the Princes Highway are on high alert, as a number dangerous potholes have developed as a result of constant rain over the past 48 hours.

At the Cudgee overpass just east of Panmure, Police have implemented traffic control measures to assist the flow of traffic.

According to eye witnesses, it comes after a number of vehicles needed to be towed as a result of the large hole, which is about five meters long.

While that is the only location requiring intervention at this point in time, motorists are reporting up to five large potholes on the stretch of highway between Panmure and Allansford.

Police are urging motorists to drive to the conditions, as more cars continue to sustain damage as a result of deteriorating road conditions, already plagued by dangerous potholes.
