CREWS CONTROL A FIRE AT RIDLEY TERANG

Fire crews from across the South West worked to control a complex structure fire at Ridley Stockfeeds manufacturing plant in Terang last night.

It’s understood that the fire broke out just before 7PM, before an advice message was issued half an hour late.

According to the CFA, the fire was quickly brought under control; it was a complex burn.

“CFA responded to reports of a fire at around 6:14pm on Peterborough Rd in Terang on Sunday 3 May” a CFA Spokesperson said

“Seven CFA units attended the scene alongside FRV, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.”

It’s understood crews discovered a small electrical fire on a within the mill.

“Upon arrival, crews found a small electrical fire on a roller within a facility holding approximately three tonnes of grain,” the spokesperson said.

Crews remained on the scene overnight to manage the fire, and the cause is being investigated.

“The incident was deemed under control at 6:41pm and declared safe at 2:41am on Monday 4 May.”

A fire investigation unit will investigate the cause.
