Winslow trainer Ciaron Maher has won the Brierly Steeplechase on day one of the Warrnambool May Racing Carnival.
The Maher-trained Stern Idol was first across the line, with the winning odds of $2.15.
It was the second time Stern Idol has won the 3450m Brierly, while Maher has now won it six times.
Hit The Road Jack, trained by Symon Wilde was second, with Castrofrancaru third.
