ROADS INVESTMENT ANNOUNCED

Premier Jacinta Allan has promised 70 per cent of new road funding will go to country areas such as the south west.

Ms Allan announced today that the Victorian Budget 2026/27 will include $1.04 billion to rebuild, repair and resurface roads across the state.

She said it was a record amount.

“This is the biggest roads blitz in the state’s history, and most of that money is going to regional Victori,” Ms Allan said.

The government estimate the budget funding was enough to get rid of 200,000 potholes.

As part of the spend, $36.9 million will go towards cleaning up the 10 busiest freeways of rubbish, graffiti removal, mowing and more.
