A Colac man has been arrested after a police investigation into a high-profile murder.
Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad charged the man with murder as part of their investigation into the 2012 suspicious disappearance of Brendan Breen (pictured).
He was interviewed by investigators and has since been charged with one count of murder.
The man appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Mr Breen was reported missing on May 9 by his former spouse, who became concerned when he cancelled dinner with her last minute via text message and then stopped answering her phone calls.
Mr Breen is the brother of St Kilda premiership hero Barry Breen.
