FREE RIDE TO CONTINUE

Premier Jacinta Allan has announced the state government will be extending free public transport for Victorian’s by another month.

Public transport had been free in Victoria until the end of April, but that has now been pushed out to the end of May.

After May, Ms Allan said fares would be half price until the end of the year.

The reason given for the extension is to reduce cost-of-living pressures on Victorians as fuel prices remain high.

For Warrnambool and south west residents, the effects of this announcement will centre around the Warrnambool to Melbourne V/Line service.

While travelling on the train remains affordable, overcrowding continues to be an issue.
