Tributes continue to flow online after the sudden passing of Ted Hunter, 18, a talented young sportsman who tragically passed away after a car accident last week.
The former Nestles Cricketer, has been living and working in Western Australia, working on a farm.
Ted grew up in Warrnambool and went to school at Grasmere Primary School, before moving to high school at Emmanuel College and eventually moving to boarding school.
He played all his junior cricket a Nestles, before he played pivotal roles in teams as a junior, moving up the ranks to division four, three and two.
In a statement on the clubs Facebook page, Nestles said Ted turned down the opportunity to of a division one cap this season, acknowledging his decision as selfless and true reflection of the beautiful young person those at the club had come to know.
Ted was also a passionate footballer, playing for the North Warrnambool Eagles and then the Hamilton Kangaroos.
He since moved west and was working on a farm in the small community of Kalannie, which forms part of the regions wheatbelt.
The news of Teds passing has sent shock waves through the close knit community of Kalannie, where he played Football since moving there at the Kalannie Bulldogs Football Netball Club.
On the Kalannie Football Netball Club Facebook page, tributes continue to flow with many referring to Ted’s admiration through both his athletic performances and the respect he showed to others.
Friends and fellow athletes remember him as someone who competed with heart while always supporting those around him.
Beyond sports, Ted was remembered as a kind-hearted and genuine person whose personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Teammates describe him as hardworking, loyal, and full of positivity.
As news of the fatal crash spread throughout Warrnambool, Kalannie, and surrounding areas, tributes and condolences poured in from sports organizations, teammates, coaches, friends, and community members.
