ROUNDABOUT BUILD BEGINS

Work has begun on Warrnambool’s newest roundabout.

The roundabout will be stationed on the intersection of Koroit Street and Ryot Street.

It will come at a cost of $800,000, with Warrnambool City Council and the state government sharing the bill.

As well as the roundabout, the works will include pedestrian islands, renewed road pavement, accessible footpaths, kerb and drainage improvements, extra car parking on Ryot Street and relocation of two bus stops further west on Koroit Street.

The project is aimed at increasing pedestrian and motorist safety in the busy South West Healthcare precinct.

While Koroit Street traffic remains open both ways, there are some restrictions so caution is urged.
