South West pensioners are being warned of a cyberattack that has compromised the bank details of multiple residents, redirecting pension payments to a fraudulent Wodonga bank account.
Victims are being left without access to funds until the following Monday. Affected residents are urged to act immediately by contacting their bank and reporting the scam to Services Australia at reportascam@servicesaustralia.gov.au or by calling the Scams and Identity Theft Helpdesk.
Anyone who believes they have been targeted is encouraged to report the incident as soon as possible to help prevent further victims.
