Road works on the Princes Highway at Panmure are yet to begin, despite having been advertised to start more than two weeks ago.
The state government’s Transport Victoria announced on its website the works would begin on March 30.
The works did not begin on that date and have still yet to start.
The notice of the March 30 starting timeframe remained on the website until it was removed today.
The section of road in question is 980m of rehabilitation work from the Ellerslie-Panmure Road to Harris Street.
Transport Victoria has still yet to provide answers to our questions on the works.
Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora deferred our questions to Transport Victoria.
Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell said it was hard to understand how a project that was scheduled, advertised, and fully prepared can suddenly be pushed out.
“It shows a level of disorganisation, and frankly contempt this Allan Labor Government has for the community who had done all the right things to get prepared.
“This isn’t just a delay – it’s a complete failure of planning.
“The community was notified, the signs were up, and locals had already organised their lives around the disruption because they know how desperately this road needs fixing.”
