WESTERN VICTORIA MINISTER STEPS DOWN

Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney has quit the Labor state government cabinet.

This more is a forerunner to Ms Tierney confirming so is quitting parliament before the November election.

Currently the minister for Regional Development and Skills and TAFE, Ms Tierney has been the Member for Western Victoria in the Legislative Council since 2006.

In the past she has served as Minister for agriculture, higher education and corrections.

Ms Tierney’s electorate office is in Geelong.

She is one of three Labor ministers to today announce they are stepping away, joined by the finance minister Danny Pearson health minister Mary-Anne Thomas.
