    COUNCILLORS APPROVE AUTHORITY TO APPROVE EXPENDITURE

    Moyne Shire Councillors have delegated authority to the Chief Executive Officer to approve expenditure of up to $100,000 for the commissioning and delivery of the investigation and associated report into the state and viability of Belfast Aquatics Port Fairy.

    STATEWIDE TOTAL FIREBAN ON TUESDAY

    Victoria is set to experience severe heatwave conditions tomorrow, with potentially record-breaking temperatures forecast in northern parts of the state. 

    EVACUATION WARNINGS ISSUED FOR CARLISLE RIVER FIRE AHEAD OF FIRE CONDITIONS TOMORROW

    Residents in the neighbouring towns of the Carlisle River fire, including Gellibrand, Kawarren, Beech Forest, Forrest, Barongarook and surrounding areas in the Otways National Park are being urged to prepare to evacuate today ahead of extreme fire danger conditions tomorrow, as the fire continues to grow.

    UPDATE: FIRE NOT YET UNDER CONTROL NOT SAFE TO RETURN

    Fire Authorities are still working to control a fire in Gellibrand. More than 9260 Hectares has burned and 27 appliances are still on the fire ground.

    CAR INTO HOUSE MORE THAN DOUBLE THE LEGAL LIMIT

    A driver has allegedly blown more than double the limit after a car crash in Terang early hours this morning. Police swiftly responded to multiple Triple Zero calls reporting a car had crashed into a house on High Street about 3am.

    EMERGENCY WARNING ISSUED FOR CARLISLE RIVER

    There is a bushfire at Carlisle River that is not yet under control. The bushfire is travelling from Intersection of Carlisle River Road and Walls-Skinner Track in a southerly direction. This fire is threatening homes and lives. It is too late to leave the area safely so you must take shelter now.

    JOB DONE, BUT LOOKOUT FOR MORE

    Another chapter in a long history of civic service has come to an end for Warrnambool's Glenys Phillpot. Mrs Phillpot has stepped down from the WRAD Health committee of management after 25 years.

    Gunditjmara musicians Lee Morgan, Brett Clarke and Andy Alberts and the Walkabouts are on the bill for a major Melbourne festival. They will be part of the Share the Spirit Festival at the Treasury Gardens on Monday.
