A truck transporting horses to the Camperdown racing trials has crashed, causing the death of the driver and two horses.
The accident happened this morning around 8am on the Slate Quarry Road, near Meridith.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
The truck overturned on a tight bend and emergency services crews attempted to treat the driver at the scene, but he could not be revived.
Six horses survived the accident.
The horses were owned by well known racing figure Patrick Payne.
Work Safe have been notified of the incident.
