Promises are starting to roll out ahead of the 2026 Victorian state election on November 28.
Premier Jacinta Allan has announced that is re-elected, Labor will ease the burden on new-home buyers.
Ms Allan said Labor would pass legalisation early next year making the house seller produce building and pest inspections as part of the pre-sale process.
Currently in Victoria these inspections have to be organised and paid for by the potential buyer.
The Premier compared the situation to car ownership, where the person selling a car was responsible for ensuring the vehicle was roadworthy.
