Well this is the case at the Junior State Surf Lifesaving Championship being held at Warrnambool beach this weekend.
Competition is underway and spectators have taken up their seats in a very unique, natural grandstand.
Warrnambool City Council cleaned the beach of piles of seaweed, and have very cleverly stacked it high and covered it with sand.
This has produced the nature-based grandstand for Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club members and those from other clubs to watch all the action.
