South west residents are being warned to dispose of their batteries and battery driven devices in a safe manner.
The warning comes as a number of fires have been reported recently which were ignited by discarded electronic devices and batteries.
Smartphones, electric toothbrushes and laptops have embedded rechargeable batteries.
Disposing of these items incorrectly can cause fires in collection trucks and recycling facilities.
These items should be disposed of at e-waste facilities.
