Adopting a pet from the RSPCA will have an extra benefit during the month of March.
For each adoption, Pet nutrition company Royal Canin will donate $100 to every cat or dog adopted from the RSPCA.
This contribution will go up to the value of $200,000.
Each year Royal Canin provides 288 tonnes of pet food for animals in RSPCA shelters while they await adoption.
All adopted cats and dogs from the RSPCA go home already desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and tick protected.
RSPCA Victoria CEO Dr Liz Walker said by adopting a cat or dog, Australians will also be helping improve the lives of countless others.
“With hundreds of cats and dogs available for adoption around the Australia, March is a wonderful time to make a new friend, improve animal welfare outcomes nationally, and help animals across the country move into the safe and loving home they deserve,” Dr Liz Walker said.
“There are many reasons to adopt a pet, and in March the number climbs to 100 thanks to our partnership with Royal Canin.
“Animals make our lives better and we have so many amazing animals in our care waiting to be adopted.”
