Former South Warrnambool star Hugh McCluggage is in the running to become captain of the Brisbane Lions.
The Lions have yet to announce who will replace Lachie Neale, who has stood down from the captaincy role.
Neale shared those duties with Harris Andrews, with McCluaggage the vice captain.
The Lions are likely to keep Andrews as captain, but may want to again have dual leaders, opening the door for McCluggae.
The Lions are aiming for an historic three-peat in 2026.
