LUCKY ESCAPE FOR WEDDING GUESTS AFTER HIGH ANGLE RESCUE

Two people have been taken to Warrnambool Hospital after becoming stuck at the bottom of a six metre drain near Allansford early Saturday morning.

According to emergency services, the incident sparked a multi-agency high angled rescue attempt, after a man from Terang disappeared from a wedding party.

“The man was located by two friends at the bottom of a drain, however one of the people who found him also came to grief after trying to rescue him.” a Victoria Police Spokesperson said.

“One the men, the 36-year-old managed to get to the surface of the drain on his own, however the second man needed to be rescued via a High Angle operation.

An FRV member was winched down the drain to rescue the man, before both were treated by paramedics.

According to Ambulance Victoria, a man in his 20’s sustained upper body injuries, while a man in his 30’s with a medical condition was also treated, both were taken to Warrnambool in a stable condition.
