A high number of drug drivers continues to be an unwanted trend on Victorian roads.
Victoria Police’s Operation Amity over the long weekend led to 154 drug driving offences being detected.
This came from 2441 roadside drug tests – a worryingly high strike rate of one in every 16 drivers tested.
Other statistics from the operation included 214 drink driving offences, 487 unregistered vehicles, 81 vehicle impoundments and 2.288 speeding offences.
