ERMACORA SILENT ON TEACHERS BATTLE

Warrnambool’s only member of parliament in the sitting government has been attacked over the battle for teachers wages and more eduction resources.

Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora has been grouped with premier Jacinta Allan in a graphic on the Australian Education Union Facebook page.

The graphic claims the Jacinta’s have slashed $253 million from public school’s in the state’s west.

Fitzmedia asked Ms Ermacora about this claim and also about the state government’s handling of negotiations around teachers push for a pay rise.

Teachers are asking for a 35 per cent pay rise over four years, with the government offering 17 per cent.

Most primary schools in the state closed down on March 24 as teachers marched through the Melbourne CBD to push their case.

Ms Ermocaroa has failed to reply to our questions regarding the attack ads and also about the teachers strike and pay rise issue and how the government is handling this.
