What started off as hot laps on Forza Horizon has since turned into a successful race career for Dennington’s 18-year-old, William Sapstead.
Mr Sapstead has successfully secured a shot at Calder Park, training from the comfort of his bedroom using simulation racing.
Simulation Racing uses specialised software to accurately mimic real-world motorsport. The highly sophisticated piece of gaming technology includes direct-drive wheels, load-cell pedals, laser-scanned tracks and realistic car physics.
The 18-year-old raced at Winton Park last week, finishing 6th in his first Hyundai Excel Series race and will go on to compete at Calder Park, Melbourne.
