CALL TO SLASH TAX ON FUEL

The federal opposition is calling on the government to halve the fuel tax for three months.

They believe it would provide urgent cost of living relief to Australian households and small businesses during the current fuel crisis.

The tax cut would reduce fuel prices by around 25 cents per litre for three months.

They said a corresponding reduction in the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge should also be provided.

Leader of the Opposition Angus Taylor said Families are seeing their standard of living collapse.

“Right now, what we need is an immediate tax cut at the bowser and a government that gets fuel to where it is needed,” Mr Taylor said.
