NEW PETROL SUPPLY COMES ON LINE

Federal energy minister Chris Bowen has announced Australia will allow lower-quality fuel for the next 60 days to help offset a petrol shortage.

The easing of fuel standards relates to allowing higher sulphur levels.

This will put another 100 million litres a month into Australia’s petrol supply.

People are still being urged not to panic buy petrol.

The move comes as the US attack on Iran continues to produce uncertainty across the middle east and its vast oil supplies.
