The wider South West is mourning the loss of local businessman and community stalwart Dion Jansz.
According to the Nirranda Titans Facebook page, the former player and club President passed away unexpectedly.
“It is with great sadness that the Nirranda Cricket Club acknowledges the unexpected passing of Dion, a former player and President of our club”. The post said.
“Dion was a true community man. His generosity, kindness and willingness to lend a hand meant he was someone people could always rely on. Whether it was through his time as a player and leader at the club, his ongoing support and sponsorship of both the cricket and football clubs, or simply helping someone who needed it, Dion always showed up for his community.” it went on to say.
An amazing community contributor, Dion has been part of many sporting clubs and community organisations over the years.
He was always happy to jump on a mike, MC community events, and through his business, support many clubs and organisations.
“He was the kind of person who would help anyone, any time, and his presence around the club and broader community will be deeply missed.” the post on the Nirranda Titans Facebook page said.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Dion’s children Paris, Zac and Holli, his fiancée Tracey, and all of his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.” The post concluded.
