South west residents dealing with dementia themselves, or with family members, have some more hope for the future following the announcement of new funding.
The Dementia Australia Research Foundation has invested $4.5 million into 23 new research projects.
One of the projects to be funded is to develop personalised dementia prevention strategies.
This will look at a range of factors that could reduce the risk of dementia, given diagnosis’ shows it is not a one size fits all approach to preventing dementia.
The Dementia Australia Research Foundation receives strong public support and generosity, with almost $40 million in funding gathered for more than 400 projects since 2000.
