Sophie Edwards etched her name in history on Sunday, becoming a two time winner of the Lochard Energy Warrnambool Women’s Classic.
It came after Edwards and nine other riders broke away from the peloton in the 25km, surviving brutal cross winds and mutiple attacks from Isla Bradbury.
Among the challengers was Tour of Tasmania GC winner and PSL Series Leader Sophia Sammons.
The final challenges came within the final 10kms, and in a shattering turn of events, two of the riders in the final group crashed with just 2km remaining.

Edwards withstood a final challenge, holding off runner up Keira Will and Alyssa Polites who came in thirds.
It caps off a huge summer from Edwards, who competed with the Australian Cycling team at the Women’s World Tour Event.
