MILESTONE FOR VISTOR CENTRE

The new Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment has hit a milestone.

The rammed-earth facade of the new Visitor Experience Centre is now complete.

This rounds out the main structure of the building that will greet visitors to the iconic location.

The structure is part of a $126 million redevelopment at the site.

The facade was created from 1500 tonnes of brick.

A welcome garden has had plants selected by the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation.

The facade was built with input from building companies from Colac and Warrnambool.

The process of the redevelopment has member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora excited.

This new visitor centre is going to bring more people to our world-famous coastline – putting more money in local pockets,” Ms Ermacora said.

Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker, joined in the praise.

“This visitor centre is an important investment in the Great Ocean Road region,” Ms Coker said.

“One that creates local jobs and helps visitors connect more deeply with our coastline.”
