A final report on the state of Belfast Aquatics Port Fairy community pool is expected to be tabled at Moyne Shire Council’s May meeting.
Council has appointed PM Design Group with the task of compiling the report, which will be based on a comprehensive technical investigation of the facility.
PM Design Group was founded in Portland and now has offices in Warrnambool, Melbourne, Ballarat and Geelong.
The investigation will have an immediate start and will look at compliance issues, structural integrity, the pool shell, long-term renewal and ongoing maintenance and capital costs.
Moyne Shire mayor Jordan Lockett said the investigation showed council’s commitment to actively exploring all viable options for future provision.
“This will give us a thorough understanding of the current condition of the facility, and enable informed decision-making both short and long term,” Cr Lockett said.
